Ultrafiltration
KMS UF elements provide dairy processors with the ability to concentrate, fractionate, and purify proteins. In addition, elements can be used for food waste recovery. Applications include:

Reverse Osmosis
TFC^® (Thin Film Composite) RO modules are typically employed for:
•  Concentration of whey
•  Concentration of skim or whole milk
•  Concentration of UF permeate/lactose
•  Polishing of RO permeate and evaporator condensate
•  Polishing of water for re-use

Nanofiltration
TFC^®-SR^® selective rejection NF modules are available for:
•  Partial demineralization and concentration of whey
•  Partial demineralization and concentration of lactose
•  Desalting of salt whey

NF Specialty Applications
The SelRO^® chemically resistant tubular and spiral modules are available for:
•  Caustic recovery and re-use
•  Acid recovery and re-use
•  Brine recovery and re-use

UF Specialty Applications: HpHT UF Dairy Spirals
KMS HpHT UF dairy spirals can be cleaned at high pH (up to 12.5) and high temperatures (up to 185°F or
85°C). At these cleaning conditions the need for sodium hypochlorite cleaning cycles is eliminated. HpHT UF elements can be used in the same processes that employ the standard UF elements provided that they are not cleaned with hypochlorite. Applications include:
•  Concentration of whey
•  Production of whey isolates
•  Standardization of milk
•  Concentration of milk
